IEEE Guangzhou Section was formed on November 18, 2017. It is situated in the Asia-Pacific region, known as IEEE Region 10. As a branch organization of IEEE, IEEE Guangzhou Section is a non-profit technical organization which provides all kinds of services to IEEE members who live and work in Guangdong Province, China.

As of June 2021, there are a total of 2879 IEEE members in the IEEE Guangzhou Section, including 5 Life Fellows, 48 Fellows, 487 Senior Members, 1301 Members and 946 Graduate Student Members. Non-members who wish to join IEEE can visit the the main IEEE site and then click on the Membership button. The IEEE Guangzhou Section is one of the most vibrant and dynamic IEEE Sections across the globe and it has shown significant growth in membership through the introduction of targeted new Chapters and Student Branches. Right now, there are 23 Chapters and 3 Student Branches.
